Does anyone else obsess over tile spacing or is it just me?
I know this might sound ridiculous to some people, but I've been staring at bathroom renovation photos online for weeks now, and I can't stop noticing the little details that separate a professional job from something that looks DIY. Like, have you ever seen tile work where the grout lines aren't perfectly even, or where the pattern doesn't flow smoothly from one wall to the next? It drives me crazy because once you see it, you can't unsee it. I'm getting ready to have my bathroom done and I keep going back and forth between different materials and layouts, trying to figure out what will stand the test of time both in terms of durability and style. I really want subway tile for the shower walls, but I'm worried it's too trendy and will look dated in a few years, even though it's been around forever. My biggest fear is ending up with something that looks sloppy because the person installing it rushed through the job or didn't have the right eye for detail. I'm specifically looking for flawless bathroom vanity and tile work because I feel like that's what makes or breaks the whole room, and I'm not willing to compromise on that. Has anyone here had a really great experience with tile installation and want to share what made it turn out so well? Or any horror stories about what to avoid? I'd love to hear some real experiences before I commit to anything.
